Today there are 15 new cases, all in the Auckland area.

This brings the total outbreak to 970. 

397 people have recovered.

“The fall in the number of cases today is encouraging, and even more encouraging is that there are no unlinked cases today,” says Director-General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield.

“All of these new cases are household contacts from known households.”

There are 22 people in hospital, 4 of those in intensive care on ventilators.
