Covid update Dec 29: 46 new cases

There are 46 new cases of Covid-19 today.
Of these, 3 are in Northland, 30 are in Auckland, 6 in Waikato, 4 in the Lakes District and 1 in Canterbury. There are also 2 new cases to report in the Tairāwhiti region on December 26.
There are 48 people in hospital, with 7 of those people in intensive care or high dependency units.
The average age of people currently in hospital is 52.
94 percent of New Zealand's eligible population have had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 91 percent have had a second dose.
There have been 4,563,219 vaccine pass downloads, including 9,925 in the last 24 hours.
Waikato DHB is 505 doses of the vaccine away from 90 percent of its eligible population being fully vaccinated.
