There are 160 new community cases of Covid-19 today. 151 are in Auckland, seven in Waikato, one in Northland, and one in Christchurch.
95 of today’s cases are unlinked.
The total number of cases in the outbreak is 3,205.
The Christchurch case is a recent returnee from overseas. In a statement the Ministry of Health said that “they had multiple negative tests in MIQ in Auckland including a Day 12 test, before being released and travelling to Christchurch. They have reported as being full vaccinated.”
Tonga has its first case of a Covid-19 after a passenger from Christchurch tested positive. The person tested negative before departing New Zealand and is fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.
There are 47 people in hospital, two of them in intensive care.
The Ministry of Health is advising anyone in Christchurch with symptoms to get tested, as well as anyone with symptoms in the Auckland suburbs of Redvale, Rosedale, New Lynn, Wiri, Drury, Henderson and Manurewa.
There have been no unexpected wastewater results.
Yesterday, there were 42,755 vaccines given. 74% of the eligible population is fully vaccinated.
