As the weather slowly eases up, Aucklanders are beginning to clean up the damage caused by last Friday’s floods.
Photographer Caitlin Vinicombe headed out on Tuesday to capture some of the clean up.

Kelston, Auckland - Dairy owner Chetan Patel’s ceiling began leaking and the entrance flooded. There were too many ways water got in to be able to block them up. The clean up has mostly finished now, but he’s worried about the predicted rain still to come.
Don Buck Road, Auckland – Damp mattresses left out to be collected. One person said they had been leaving belongings in spread-out piles along the street hoping people would collect it instead of having to dispose of it himself.

Henderson, Auckland - Andrew, who did not want to be identified, had dug out a drainage system from the back to front of his house. The basement and three downstairs bedrooms of his house were flooded. He’s moved his downstairs belongings out to the road to dry and moved his children into bedrooms upstairs.
