“Would I ever move to the city? No. Never, never, never. Just nah, I like staying in my quiet valley.”
Taiwhakaea Osborne (Ngāti Awa, Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Porou, Te Aitanga-a-Materoa) is 18 and loves Waimana, a small town in the Bay of Plenty.
But his desire to be a farmer means he’ll have to move away from home - and his whānau.
“I got to learn to provide for myself. I can’t just rely on Mum and Dad.”
